Small Homely Gift Ideas for all the Family
21st Nov 2018
As the sounds of Elton John fill our living rooms and we watch as a little boy dressed as a plug zooms across a school stage and into a socket, we can deny the truth no longer. The Christmas ads are out and the festive season is well and truly here! When it comes to Christmas shopping though, there are two camps. The organised ones who have everything bought and wrapped before December even arrives (that’s 1 in 5 of us), and then there’s the rest- who like to take things a little more slowly. But with Black Friday kicking off on the 23rd November and our brilliant offer of free quick delivery when you spend a tenner, there’s plenty of time to find the perfect gift for everyone in the family.
- For a teen. Teens are notoriously tricky to buy for, but if you want to find something a little different to a gift voucher then some interlocking mini tilt bins would be ideal. Fill them with brightly coloured highlighters, paperclips and post it notes for a quirky and useful present. Or, if they like make up, place nail varnishes, cotton pads and glittery eyeshadow in the containers instead. The clear acrylic front means they’ll be able to see exactly what’s inside, just tipping the tray open to get what they need.
- For a baker. For a truly beautiful Christmas gift for someone who loves to bake, grab a Clear Acrylic Stackable Box and pop in all of the ingredients to make festive mulled wine like cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves and an orange and a lemon. Not only will it look and smell lovely, but they can use the clear acrylic box to store their baking ingredients forever more- and they can add (and stack) more boxes over time if they want too. Add a bottle of red, and then keep your fingers crossed that you’re invited to sample the mulled wine once it’s made!
- For a tween. No longer a baby but not yet a teen, great tween gifts are anything that allows them to play, create and have fun. Slime is still a big trend for children of this age, and as any parent of children this age will tell you, they’ll appropriate all of your Tupperware to fill with their slime creations! Get them some interlocking storage canisters, the containers are not only interlocking but the bases can be removed- ideal for larger batches of slime- and they’ll love being able to see their slime too! Earn extra brownie points by throwing in some clear PVA glue, a couple of pots of food colouring and activator and they’ll have all they need to make their slime, and store it.
- For a sweetie. Dad, mum, grandma or grandad, there’s not many who don’t have a favourite sweet treat. So, gather a carousel organiser and pack it with all of their favourite wrapped sweets like refreshers, love hearts and sherbet lemons. And when they’re finally done with eating the sweets- they can use the 9 handy storage tubs for nails and screws, sewing bits and bobs- or as a perm-desk sweet dispenser!
- For a toddler. Toddlers just love dressing up. Whether as a pirate, a fairy or a doctor, dressing up allows them to express themselves and indulge in valuable role play to aid their development. A great toddler gift is their own dressing up area. Get a few dressing up outfits they’ll love (Matalan have a good range) and place them onto a Heavy Duty Clothes Rail in pink or black and sit back and watch their imagination grow! Don’t forget, spend a tenner for free quick delivery for a limited time…Photo by Kira auf der Heide on Unsplash
