Autumn 2019 Mood Board to Stylise Your Bedroom

If you’ve pulled on your waterproof coat before venturing out this week, uttered more than a fair few ‘ooh it’s a bit cold’s’ and even cranked up the heating for the first time in many months, then the reality has probably kicked in that the long days of summer are over. But forget lamenting the end of summer, it’s time to welcome autumn and turn your bedroom into a cosy nest to retreat to as the nights draw in. We’ve got some AW19/20 ideas to give your bedroom a fabulous DIY makeover.

1. Luscious leafy greens. Not, not on your plate but in your bedroom! Green in all its glorious shades is a massive mood board design trend for AW19 and it can work so well in the room where you rest your head. Whether you invest in a slinky velvet bedstead in a rich pine green, or something a little less high investment like some green leaf cushions. All of that relaxing green will ensure a restful night’s sleep.

2. The duvet switch. When it comes to creating warmth and cosiness, you have to deal with the practicalities. Switch up your summer duvet for a thicker tog; 13.5 to 15 tog is about right for the coming autumn and winter. You can also add in thicker sheets and an eiderdown for ultimate comfort. And as for the summer duvet, save space and keep it fresh for next year with a vacuum storage bag.

3. Gorgeous nudes. The one nude shade that is everywhere in AW19 is pink. A very delicate pink, this is a shade that’ll blend into your bedroom space perfectly. Add some pink into your existing neutrals in sumptuous fabrics for a delicious autumn update. Maybe a soft pink ceiling light, or some cute pink accessories on your retro cube bedside tables. Or, if you prefer to be different, mix up your dusky pinks with dark leafy greens for an unusual bedroom look.

4. Linen refresh. If you’re switching your duvet, you may as well go the whole hog with a bedding update. Maybe you’ve got a favourite set stashed away in a cupboard somewhere, or maybe it’s time to splurge on something new. Take your inspiration from the AW19 hot colours of mustard, green, pink or maybe even a burst of blue for true home interior magic.

5. Autumn updates. The cooler weather means the winter woollies are making an appearance once more. Pack away the summer threads until next year (underbed storage bags will keep them out of sight, but well looked after), and bring out the big guns! The Black Heavy Duty Clothes Rail can handle even the heaviest of winter garb.
