Grid Mesh Gets Outdoorsy
8th Aug 2018
With summer well and truly here, we’re taking all kinds of things outdoors. We’re eating outdoors, we’re watching movies outdoors, we’re living as much as we can outdoors, and feeling all the better for it! So, it got us thinking, what if we could take some of our favourite indoor styling ideas and make them work for outdoors?! We gave the indoor-outdoor treatment to our famous grid mesh freestanding and wall mounted shelving.
- The vertical toolbox. We’re all quite used to having our kitchen utensils out on display- easy to find, easy to use, right? But go in the garage and suddenly we decide to chuck everything in a toolbox! This makes sense for a builder who needs tools to be portable, but for most of us it means that a good 20 minutes of every DIY task is spent trying to find the hammer, wallpaper scraper or paintbrush! Take the indoors outside with a 6 ft Wall-Mounted Grid Mesh with Hooks. This beauty has 24 hooks for hanging every tool you would normally throw in a toolbox, meaning you’ll never be short of a screwdriver again!
- The summer ‘feature wall’. Feature walls have been big news in homes for some time but who says that feature walls are only for inside? Give your outdoor room a new lease of life with a summer feature wall. Attach an Urbaboxx 6 ft Wall-Mounted Grid Mesh Display to your wall horizontally using the four brackets and this becomes your canvas. Grab some ‘S’ Hooks then attach all of your summer essentials like buckets, spades, badminton set and tennis rackets. It’ll make you smile when you see it, and be super organised to boot.
- Zoning. The trend now is for big open plan spaces in our homes, but within this we tend to have specific zones, so in an open plan kitchen lounge we’d have an eating area, lounging area and cooking area. So why not take this idea to your garage or other outdoor rooms? A really easy way to divide a space like a garage is with our 6 ft Freestanding Grid Mesh. As it’s freestanding, there is no installation, just place where needed. Perhaps place a couple together for a ‘wall’ effect, separating a work area from a storage area. Then use each side of the mesh to hang suitable items for each side-creating separation between ‘zones’.
- A corner for everything. Indoors and it’s all about maximising space, creating little snugs for our books or a corner as a home for our favourite pictures. Do the same in your outdoor rooms with the 5 ft Freestanding Grid Mesh Corner Shelving. Place one freestanding grid mesh in each corner of your garage, man cave or she-shed. Then one corner could be devoted to painting bits and bobs, one could be for gardening items, one corner for outdoor entertaining essentials like candles and maybe one for outdoor shoes. Then, when you need something you just need to head to the right corner!
- The statement piece. Designers are big on statement lights to give focus to a room as well as much needed light. To translate this indoor styling idea to outdoor rooms like garages, attach a 4 ft Grid Mesh Panel to the ceiling of your outdoor room (if you can do so safely!). Then attach large globe bulb style lights around the edge of the grid mesh. Or instead of lights, you could attach big bunches of dried lavender with garden twine, adding some rustic charm to your outdoor space.
